Studio House is the epitome of comfort, with plenty of room for the whole family to spread out, while allowing ample opportunities to bring everyone together. The living room is extraordinarily large and open, with picture windows, skylights, and a wall of sliding glass doors. The ceiling is vaulted, open to the second floor loft area. Seating is plentiful and comfy (our favorite is the cushioned rocker with footstool), with options to gather around a table for games, the wood-burning stove for warmth, or the TV/DVD setup for entertainment. The dining room, open at one end to the living room and at the other to the kitchen, showcases a one-of-a-kind table, handmade expressly for Studio House. With room for 12, the table offers space for dining, puzzles, food prep and more. The three walls of cupboards and counter space provide room for several chefs to join forces. The double oven, gas stove and other amenities (clam/lobster pot, griddle, wafflemaker to name a few) are sure to inspire new and memorable dishes. The master bedroom suite and a mud/laundry room (with a second refrigerator) complete the first floor. Upstairs, the loft includes two additional bedrooms and a full bath, as well as a small gathering area with a game table, padded chest, desk and a treasure trove of games and puzzles. Outside, the bi-level deck with built-in seating will be your favorite place to read. The outdoor shower on the back deck refreshes after a day at the beach or pond. And the large yard with trees, a rock wall and tree trunk sculptures is a fantastic setting for children’s games or a stroll before dinner. Studio House, along with the Dacha and New House, shares a sunny pond entrance and sandy beach, (typical except in years with unusually high levels of precipitation.) A wooden dock, a canoe and a kayak add to the recreational value of the pond. Studio House is located in a very private setting, at the end of a half-mile dirt road off of State Road. |
